<image:title>Music - Caribou</image:title>
<image:caption>For over two decades, Caribou has been a defining force in electronic music, evolving from an experimental solo project into a dynamic, genre-defying live experience. Led by Dan Snaith, Caribou’s performances have become renowned for their electrifying energy and immersive soundscapes, delivered by a powerhouse four-piece band that brings Snaith’s studio creations to vibrant life on stage. Caribou's musical evolution has been marked by continual transformation. From the lush psychedelia of Andorra to the shimmering dance-pop of Swim and the emotionally charged Our Love, Snaith has consistently pushed the boundaries of sound and storytelling. His 2020 release Suddenly delved deep into personal narratives, connecting with audiences through its heartfelt intimacy and dynamic production. With the latest Caribou album Honey, Dan Snaith explores fresh sonic territories while staying true to the project’s core: music that moves both heart and body. Honey merges the rhythmic intensity of Snaith's Daphni persona with Caribou’s signature warmth, creating tracks that pulse with life and emotional resonance. On stage, Caribou’s music transcends its recorded form. Snaith and his band transform intricate studio productions into expansive live experiences. Layered synths, driving percussion, and soaring vocals blend into hypnotic, euphoric performances that ignite festival crowds and intimate venues alike. Highlights include unforgettable sets at Glastonbury, Coachella, and Primavera Sound.</image:caption>

<image:title>Music - Primal Scream</image:title>
<image:caption>Primal Scream is a Scottish alternative rock band formed in Glasgow in 1982 by Bobby Gillespie and Jim Beattie, renowned for blending indie-pop, psychedelic rock, and dance music. Their 1991 album Screamadelica broke them into the mainstream and won the first Mercury Prize. Beyond the Pale is their only Irish show this summer.</image:caption>

<image:title>Music - FATHER JOHN MISTY</image:title>
<image:caption>Josh Tillman, the man behind the persona of Father John Misty, is arguably the most charismatic showman of his generation. A modern troubadour with the soul of a 70s icon and the wit of a stand-up comic, he has carved out a unique space in the musical landscape. His music is a lush, orchestral blend of folk and soft rock, but his lyrics are razor-sharp - exploring love, doom, society, and the absurdity of the modern world with a cynical, knowing wink. On stage, Father John Misty is a revelation. Swinging wildly between intimate, hushed confessionals and dramatic, hip-swinging rock star theatrics, he holds the audience in the palm of his hand. His voice - a rich, booming tenor - is capable of filling the biggest spaces, while his stage presence is magnetic. He is part preacher, part lounge singer, and entirely captivating. Bringing Father John Misty to the ancient, mythical setting of Glendalough feels like a perfect alignment. His songs, which often deal with the beautiful mess of being human, will resonate deeply in the valley. This is a performance that demands to be seen, a sermon for the end of the world delivered with a smile.</image:caption>

<image:title>Music - SOULWAX</image:title>
<image:caption>Soulwax’s only Irish show of Summer 2026. There are bands, there are DJs, and then there is Soulwax. The brainchild of Belgian brothers David and Stephen Dewaele (also known to the world as 2ManyDJs), Soulwax are widely considered the pioneers of the collision between rock and techno. They defined the era where the swagger of a guitar band met the relentless precision of a club system, and they have been dismantling the rulebook ever since. To see Soulwax live is to witness a feat of engineering as much as a musical performance. Known for their "Transient Program for Drums and Machinery," the band often sets up with three drummers, vintage synths, and a laboratory’s worth of equipment. They don’t just play electronic music; they deconstruct it and rebuild it in real-time, blurring the lines between man and machine. It is a syncopated, high-energy wall of sound that is visceral, sweaty, and utterly undeniable. From their seminal album Nite Versions to their more recent experiments with sound, the Dewaele brothers have earned an international cult status that few can match. They are architects of a specific kind of chaos - one that is perfectly controlled and impossible to resist.</image:caption>

<image:title>Music - HONEY DIJON</image:title>
<image:caption>Honey Dijon is more than a DJ; she is a cultural force. Born and raised in Chicago, the spiritual home of House music, she was schooled by the legends of the genre. Now based in Berlin and celebrated as a global fashion icon, she brings a unique perspective to the decks—one that bridges the gap between the raw, soulful roots of Chicago and the sleek, driving energy of the European underground. Her sets are renowned for their energy, style, and unpredictability. Honey Dijon doesn’t just mix tracks; she weaves a narrative, pulling from classic house, disco, techno, and everything in between. She plays with an unapologetic joy and a deep respect for the history of the culture. Whether she is playing a fashion week after-party in Paris or a massive festival main stage, she commands the room with an effortless cool. For Beyond The Pale, Honey Dijon represents the perfect Saturday night energy. She is a selector who understands how to move a crowd, bringing a sense of inclusivity, glamour, and pure rhythm to the woods. Prepare for a masterclass in style and sweat from House music royalty.</image:caption>

<image:title>Music - OF MONSTERS AND MEN</image:title>
<image:caption>“All Is Love and Pain in the Mouse Parade.” That may sound a little strange, but the title — and beating heart — of Icelandic indie-folk collective Of Monsters and Men’s fourth album hits a lot closer to home than you might expect. A tapestry of stories, moments, and conversations, the album explores how love and pain intertwine — feelings that may seem at odds with one another, yet co-exist and even rely on each other. Its tales range from the loneliness and longing of living in an apartment block surrounded by strangers, to missed connections in a grocery store, to the imagined lives and losses of a community of mice in a vacant winter house.</image:caption>

<image:title>Music - BIIRD</image:title>
<image:caption>BIIRD is the sound of the Irish underground finding a new voice. An emerging talent that blurs the lines between shoegaze textures and alt-pop hooks, BIIRD is quickly becoming a name to watch. With a sound that feels expansive and cinematic, they fit right into the lineage of great Irish guitar music, but with a fresh, modern production style. Catching BIIRD now is a chance to see a band on the ascent. They capture the specific mood of right now - melancholic but hopeful, intimate but huge.</image:caption>

<image:title>Music - GROOVE ARMADA DJ SET</image:title>
<image:caption>After a quarter of a century at the forefront of dance music, Tom Findlay and Andy Cato have nothing left to prove. Groove Armada are, quite simply, legends. From the chill-out perfection of At The River to the warehouse-shaking energy of Superstylin' and I See You Baby, they have provided the soundtrack to countless nights out, after-parties, and festival moments. Their DJ sets are where the duo returns to their roots. This is a chance to see two masters of their craft digging deep into the crates that built their sound. Expect a journey through house, disco, funk, and the kind of big-room energy that only 25 years of experience can deliver. Bringing Groove Armada to the valley feels like a homecoming for anyone who grew up on dance music. It’s a chance to dance with the pioneers, to hear the classics woven into a fresh set, and to understand exactly why they have remained at the top of the game for so long.</image:caption>

<image:title>Music - SISTER SLEDGE</image:title>
<image:caption>Disco royalty. There is no other way to describe them. Sister Sledge are the voices behind some of the most enduring, uplifting, and unifying anthems in the history of music. We Are Family, Lost in Music, He’s the Greatest Dancer, Thinking of You - these aren’t just songs; they are cultural touchstones that have filled dancefloors for nearly five decades. Hailing from Philadelphia, the Sledge sisters helped define the Chic-era disco sound with Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards. But this isn’t a nostalgia trip; it’s a celebration of joy. Their live show is a high-octane explosion of funk, soul, and positivity. It is impossible to stand still when that bassline kicks in. For Beyond The Pale, Sister Sledge brings the ultimate "sunny afternoon" energy. It’s the set where the whole festival comes together - young and old, dance heads and rock fans - united by the sheer power of a perfect disco groove. Prepare for the biggest singalong of the weekend.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Nothing lasts. Childhood, creative cycles, intentions, relationships, plans, dispositions, moods, gaffs, direction. Even love. Even home. The mode is transition. In this space between, Kojaque returns with an album that contends with the past, and embarks upon a new future. Following the landmark projects Deli Daydreams and Town’s Dead, comes Phantom of the Afters. Kojaque’s first two records changed the Irish hiphop landscape forever. Now London-based, Kojaque’s Phantom of the Afters traces the blurred outlines of childhood trauma, depression, grief and love. This is an album that finds comfort and assurance in the acceptance of the self, through shedding what no longer serves. Informed by the pursuit of simplicity, while meditating on heartbreak, home and health, Phantom of the Afters finds Kojaque reflecting on the landmarks of a young life, in all their beauty and complexity.</image:caption>

<image:title>Music - MOODYMANN</image:title>
<image:caption>Kenny Dixon Jr., aka Moodymann, is an enigma. A Detroit legend who operates entirely on his own terms, he is one of the most respected and mysterious figures in house music. His sound is a dusty, soulful, sample-heavy collage that draws a direct line from the blues and gospel of the American South to the techno futurism of Detroit. Moodymann doesn’t just play records; he preaches. His sets are unpredictable journeys that might drift from a Prince B-side to a gritty techno track, held together by his own gravelly voice on the mic. He rejects the polished, commercial face of dance music in favour of something rawer, blacker, and infinitely more soulful. Seeing Moodymann in the woods is going to be a vibe. It’s a set for the heads, for the dancers who want to feel the history of the music. It’s rare, it’s real, and it’s the kind of booking that defines the "curated" nature of Beyond The Pale.</image:caption>

<image:title>Music - CLAPTONE</image:title>
<image:caption>The golden mask. The white gloves. The mystery. Claptone has become one of the most recognizable figures in modern house music, despite nobody knowing exactly who he is. But the theatricality is just the hook; the music is the reason people stay. Claptone creates deep, infectious, soul-drenched house music that is designed to make people move. From his global hit No Eyes to his Masquerade residencies in Ibiza, Claptone has mastered the art of the groove. His sets are a seamless blend of his own productions and edits, creating a consistent, uplifting vibe that works perfectly on a big stage. It’s music that feels magical, slightly surreal, and undeniably catchy. In the setting of Glendalough, the mystery of Claptone feels right at home. It’s a performance that leans into the theatrical and the mythical, adding a touch of gold-plated intrigue to the line-up.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Horace Andy is a real living reggae legends. Unique, with its characteristic falsetto and vibrato, he made history with hits like "Skylarking", "You are My Angel" or "In The Light" among many others. The one who was nicknamed "Sleepy", and also recognized by the general public thanks to his collaboration as a singer with Massive Attack, and he is one of those timeless artists whose voice is unforgettable and recognizable among a thousand. His lastest album is "Midnight Rocker", released in 2022, and produced by Adrian Sherwood! As well as revisiting some Horace Andy classics like Mr Bassie, Materialist and This Must Be Hell with fresh production, the album also features brand new material penned by LSK, Jeb Loy Nichols, George Oban and Adrian Sherwood. Horace Andy and Adrian Sherwood have also versioned Safe From Harm, a much-loved early single by the group that Andy is most associated with, Massive Attack. With his band "Dub Asante", Horace Andy, this charismatic character, today distills his concerts all over the world. <image:title>Music - TINLICKER</image:title>
<image:caption>Over more than a decade, Tinlicker have consistently pushed boundaries in the world of electronic music, cultivating a sound that is both unique and personal. The use of real instruments, ranging from strings to keys to horns, has long been a staple of the ensemble that helps to separate their sound from more traditional dance acts. Beyond the instrumentation, their music also has an unusual and powerful propensity to evoke an array of feelings, from euphoria to sadness, and everything in between. It’s music one can dance to, no doubt, but it’s also music that tells a compelling story. After their 2021 breakthrough with the single ‘Because You Move Me’ (over 1 billion streams now), Tinlicker implemented some radical changes - they left their long-time label, Anjunadeep for [PIAS] and transitioned from performing purely DJ sets to a format including live/band performances. Risky but well-calculated choices, necessary for the next steps to realize the creative direction of the album they were working on, ‘Cold Enough For Snow’ (2024). The resulting LP was a masterclass in balancing innovation with quality. What stands out most about ‘Cold Enough For Snow’ is its stylistic diversity, from melodic (‘Glasshouse’) to indie-electronic (‘This Life’ and ‘Nothing To Lose’), to clubbier, more techno-leaning instrumentals, such as ‘Blowfish’ and ‘Revolution.’ It even includes a track without their customary four-on-the-floor beats, ‘Strawberry.’ Tinlicker produced the LP in collaboration with Metropole Orkest, a Netherlands-based jazz and pop orchestra with whom they performed at ADE opening in 2023. Since the release of ‘ColdEnough For Snow’ Tinlicker hit the road for headline tours across Europe and North America and for festivals like Pinkpop, Sziget, Coachella South Facing and Portola. In spring 2025 Hero Baldwin joins the group as a live- and studiomember. With the single ‘I Want Your Freedom’ they kicked off album chapter four, the first as a group of three with a nice string of bandgigs on the horizon… Tinlicker is here to push boundaries for the sake of art, and chase what they’re passionate about rather than choosing to blend in and play it safe. “We don’t like living safe,” one of the members once said. When it comes to making music, “there’s only one rule: we have to like it.”</image:caption>

<image:title>Music - 2MANYDJS</image:title>
<image:caption>If Soulwax is the serious, deconstructed side of the Dewaele brothers, 2ManyDJs is the party. In the early 2000s, they effectively invented the modern mash-up with their seminal As Heard On Radio Soulwax Pt. 2, teaching a generation that it was okay to mix Dolly Parton with Erol Alkan, or The Stooges with Salt-N-Pepa. Their sets are a whirlwind tour through music history, ignoring genre boundaries in favour of pure impact. They are the masters of the unexpected drop, the juxtaposition that shouldn’t work but absolutely does. It is clever, chaotic, and relentlessly fun. Having the brothers perform twice across the weekend - once as the live band Soulwax and once as 2ManyDJs - gives BTP audiences the full spectrum of their genius. This set is strictly for dancing, laughing, and wondering "how did they make that fit?"</image:caption>

<image:title>Music - BEN KLOCK</image:title>
<image:caption>Being one of the most in-demand Techno DJs of our times, Ben Klock needs little introduction. His name has been closely associated with Berlin’s legendary club Berghain since 2005. His monthly residency has formed the backdrop to his international success, providing an invaluable platform for his ability to create a room rather than just play to it. Much of his early career was marked by marathon sets – a signature that played a considerable role in nurturing his skills and reputation – but even the more compressed sets he shares today evidence an intricate narrative and sense of flow that defines him as a DJ. It was these inherent abilities that led him to compile the fabric 66 compilation in 2012, before winning the BBC Radio 1’s Essential Mix of the Year award in 2015. His releases on Ostgut Ton have become landmarks in the imprint’s history. 2009’s “Dawning”, the first of his collaborations with Marcel Dettmann kickstarted the label itself and remains a stand-out track in its discography. Another release of particular note is the Before One EP including “Subzero”, which many techno lovers still refer to as their gateway track into the whole genre itself. For many, however, it is his album One (2009) that best captures Klock’s talents as a producer. His skills as a remixer have also seen him rework tracks by a wide variety of artists, including Kerri Chandler, Depeche Mode, Robert Hood and Kenny Larkin. Additionally, Klock curates with great passion his own label Klockworks, founded in 2006. With releases from DVS1, Stef Mendesidis, The Advent, Sterac, Etapp Kyle, Temudo and many more Klockworks became a synonym for unique, high quality Techno. In 2017 Ben started his own event series PHOTON which is a unique concept show that blends light, architecture and music. Since then he toured PHOTON at special venues in major cities around the world such as Printworks (London), Gashouder (Amsterdam), Arca (Sao Paolo), to name a few. It quickly became a new standard for audio visual electronic music events. In 2023 the project returns after a pandemic induced break with a brand new visual and artistic concept.</image:caption>

She is a powerhouse techno DJ, known for high-octane, punchy sets that refuse to let up. Her breakthrough Boiler Room set has millions of views for a reason—it is a masterclass in tension, release, and pure driving rhythm. Sama' plays with a ferocity and passion that is palpable. For her, techno is more than just music; it’s a form of resistance, a release, and a way to put her home on the map. Her sound is dark, driving, and hypnotic, perfect for a late-night session in the woods. We are honoured to have her in the valley. Sama' brings a global perspective and a serious intensity to the dance line-up. This is techno with a soul and a story.</image:caption>

<image:title>Music - CHRISTIAN LÖFFLER</image:title>
<image:caption>Christian Löffler’s music sounds like it was composed specifically for Glendalough. The German producer specializes in deep, melancholic, and emotive techno that is heavily inspired by nature. Often recording in a log cabin overlooking the Baltic Sea, he weaves field recordings, soft percussion, and haunting melodies into a sound that is introspective yet danceable. He bridges the gap between the concert hall and the club. It is "Sehnsucht" (longing) you can dance to. His live sets are immersive journeys that feel organic and breathing, moving away from the mechanical side of techno into something more human. If ever there was an artist to soundtrack a sunset over the Wicklow mountains, it is Christian Löffler. This will be a beautiful, atmospheric highlight of the weekend.</image:caption>

<image:title>Music - NEWDAD</image:title>
<image:caption>Life is all about balance, and for every dream experience that shakes up your world, there’s often a sacrifice to be made. NewDad have had plenty of the former since releasing their debut single ‘How’ in 2020 and steadily building an ever-growing fanbase around their spellbinding dream-pop. They released a critically acclaimed debut album with 2024’s Madra, gained a fan in their ultimate hero, The Cure’s Robert Smith, and toured parts of the world they never imagined they’d visit. But to make all of this possible, the Galway three-piece have had to sacrifice things too. Around four years ago, the band — singer/guitarist Julie Dawson, guitarist Sean O’Dowd, and drummer Fiachra Parslow — left their home behind and moved to London. The relocation has helped them thrive creatively, but it’s also something Dawson still has mixed feelings about. “Most days I wake up and I’m like, ‘Yes, let’s fucking do this,’ but I do still miss home,” she explains. That tension — between knowing you’re where you need to be and longing to be somewhere else — colours Altar, NewDad’s highly anticipated second album. Started shortly before the release of Madra, it is deeply informed by Dawson’s yearning for home, for family, and for the place she truly belongs. In many ways, the record is a tribute to Galway.</image:caption>

Though the bulk of it is sung in English, as all her records have been, Σtella also delivers her first two songs in Greek, “Omorfo Mou,” and a cover of a 1969 cult classic of the Greek New Wave, Litsa Sakellariou’s “Ta Vimata.” Adagio follows the release of her 2022 Sub Pop debut, Up and Away, which has catapulted her beyond three million monthly Spotify listeners and has secured key licensing placements in the MAX show Industry and an online H&M Clothing commercial.</image:caption>

<image:title>Music - THE SABRES OF PARADISE</image:title>
<image:caption>The long awaited Irish debut. There are seminal acts, and then there are The Sabres of Paradise. Formed in the early 90s by the late, great Andrew Weatherall alongside studio alchemists Jagz Kooner and Gary Burns, the trio didn't just inhabit the electronic music landscape—they terraformed it. Their sound was a "dark and menacing trawl through clubland," a place where dub basslines seeped through spooky electro melodies and white noise. Across two legendary albums, Sabresonic and Haunted Dancehall, they defined a specific moment in British culture: the point where the hedonism of acid house met the experimental edge of dub and post-punk. They gave us Smokebelch II, arguably the most beautiful, pastoral electronic track ever committed to wax—a song that transcends the genre entirely. Thirty years on, and five years after the untimely passing of their captain Weatherall, Kooner and Burns have rebooted the machine. This is not a nostalgia trip; it is a celebration of a legacy. The live show sees the original studio wizards stepping out of the shadows to bring those intricate, menacing, and joyous rhythms back to the stage. Having The Sabres of Paradise at Glendalough is a profound moment. It is a chance to hear the music that shaped a generation of producers, played loud in the open air. Andrew won’t be on stage, but as the lads say, he’ll be standing in the wings, giving them the nod. Expect dub pressure, breakbeats, and a masterclass in electronic soul.</image:caption>

<image:title>Music - CLIFFORDS</image:title>
<image:caption>Hailing from Cork, Cliffords are bringing a fresh, vibrant energy to the Irish indie scene. Blending spoken-word elements, jagged guitars, and catchy pop hooks, they capture the specific anxieties and joys of youth in modern Ireland. They have that "next big thing" energy - raw, unpolished, and exciting. It’s the sound of a band figuring it out in real-time and having a massive amount of fun doing it. Catching Cliffords now is a chance to say "I saw them when." They represent the depth of local talent that Beyond the Pale is committed to showcasing.</image:caption>

<image:title>Music - MADRA SALACH</image:title>
<image:caption>"Madra Salach" translates to "Dirty Dog," and the name fits. This is not your grandfather's trad session. It is a gritty, high-octane collision of Irish traditional melodies and punk energy. They take the tunes you know and drag them through the mud, playing with a ferocity and speed that demands attention. It is raucous, sweaty, and absolutely brilliant. This is the sound of the field coming to life. A proper Irish hoolie.</image:caption>

<image:title>Music - MR.SCRUFF</image:title>
<image:caption>Manchester-based Andy Carthy, aka Mr. Scruff, began as a 12-year-old bedroom DJ and producer in 1984, inspired by two-tone, reggae, electro, hip-hop, boogie, early house, and ’80s megamixes. Over the years, his obsessive and curious ear has latched onto many more styles, driven by a desire to bring more wonderful sounds into the mix, both in the club and in the studio. After 10 years of using cassette decks, cheap hi-fi gear, and DIY electronics to create his own mixes and productions, he started DJing regularly and released his first 12” in 1994. Several 12”s, remixes, and an LP later, he released his second album Keep It Unreal on Ninja Tune in 1999 and began his Manchester DJ residency of the same name - a night that still runs to this day. Mr. Scruff weaves together many forms of music in a playful way: soul, funk, gospel, disco, jazz, blues, folk, R&B, ska, two-tone, reggae, Latin, jazz, afrobeat, tropical, house, techno, garage, electro, new wave, hip-hop, breakbeat, bhangra, ambient - and whatever else makes sense in the moment. Curiosity and connection drive his passion, along with a love of sharing all this music on his joyous dancefloors. He is obsessive about sound quality and likes to arrive early at venues with his mixer and effects units to set up and sound-check. His logic: once the technical side is taken care of and he feels connected to the space and staff, creativity and fun can flow freely. He loves long DJ sets and daytime or early-start gigs. He travels with a sound engineer and often performs with his sidekick MC Kwasi. When budgets and tech allow, he brings his visuals operator for a fully immersive dancefloor experience. He also enjoys long back-to-back sets with similarly wide-eared, excitable DJs. Scruff particularly loves working with passionate lighting engineers - especially when they can join him in the booth.</image:caption>

He is a master of the audio-visual spectacle, blending live instrumentation, electronics, and stunning visuals into a cohesive show. Whether he is conducting an orchestra or dropping heavy beats, Kormac knows how to entertain. His shows are high-energy, cinematic, and full of surprise guests and moments. <image:title>Music - RÓIS</image:title>
<image:caption>RÓIS is a composer, vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, and electronic artist from Fermanagh, whose songs breathe new life into a forgotten Ireland. Blending elements of folk, sean-nós, electronics, and jazz harmony, RÓIS’ genre-bending sound transports listeners to a different realm. With shapeshifting sets, no two performances are ever the same, as audiences accompany RÓIS into her sound world. Expect twists and turns of tempo and genre, and moments of sheer magic, as she conducts the energy of the room. This is a place where the ancient meets the new. RÓIS’ ethereal voice has been compared to the likes of Björk, Meredith Monk and Hatis Noit. It is a vocal style rooted in traditional sean-nós singing, as she summons the dead and forgotten, with ancient ‘keening' songs. With RÓIS’ performances the old and the new are enmeshed, alongside encapsulating visuals, in the hope of creating good art. Leading audiences into a realm of mysticism and creating a space for introspection, these live experiences are completely unique. In late 2024, RÓIS self-released her acclaimed EP ‘MO LÉAN’. Written and produced by RÓIS with additional production from John Spud Murphy (OXN/Lankum), 'MO LÉAN' is a concept record, taking the listener through the grieving process from start to finish, from the chaos that loss brings, to the intense emotional outpourings and finally, a cathartic release.</image:caption>

<image:title>Music - CURTISY</image:title>
<image:caption>Curtisy's ascent feels like the natural next chapter in Ireland's ongoing cultural purple patch. His trajectory has been swift but deliberate: an RTÉ Choice Prize nomination for his debut album 'What Was the Question', a BBC Radio 1Xtra debut with CassKid, a widely-circulated Dazed profile that labelled him "one of the best rappers to ever come out of Ireland," and a growing catalogue that doubles as a personal diary — candid, witty, self-deprecating, and bracingly honest. His music lives in the cracks between sharp humour and quiet melancholy, drawing comparisons to Earl Sweatshirt and Mike but refusing to lose its Irish vernacular</image:caption>

It is emotional electronic music, designed to make you feel as much as it makes you move. Signed to the tastemaker label Ki Records, his sound is lush, atmospheric, and beautifully produced. <image:title>Music - ELA MINUS</image:title>
<image:caption>Gabriela Jimeno, better known as Ela Minus, is an artist who creates bright, rebellious music for dark times. Born in Colombia and based in New York, she began her musical life as a drummer in a hardcore band, and that raw, punk ethos remains central to her electronic sound. On stage, she is a revelation. Refusing to hide behind a laptop, Ela performs using only hardware synthesizers, manipulating cables and knobs to generate sound in real-time. It is a tactile, physical performance that brings a human pulse to machine music. Her songs - sung in a mix of Spanish and English - are intimate acts of resistance, blending driving techno rhythms with pop melodies and a whisper-quiet intensity. Ela Minus represents the spirit of experimentation at the heart of Beyond the Pale. She is an artist pushing the boundaries of what electronic music can be - personal, political, and profoundly moving. Catch her set for a masterclass in analogue artistry.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Dose brings together the formidable talents of Lizzie Fitzpatrick (Bitch Falcon), bassist Lauren Heron (Merpire), synth player Aoife Spratt, and drummer Nicki Meehan. Their sound is a bold fusion of dream pop, post-punk, grunge, shoegaze, and synth-pop, drawing on influences from DIIV, Cocteau Twins, Beach House, and Slowdive. The band’s debut single "Cuckoo" dropped in 2024, to popular acclaim and secured a spot as 2FM The Alternative’s Track of the Week. The Goo described the track as “a fuzzy pitch shifting cross between shoegaze, coldwave with some post punk thrown in. Sung by The Roches and mixed by Eno.” - and predicted big things for Dose. Their debut EP ‘Sycophantic’ (produced by Joey Edwards - Pizza Pizza/Just Mustard/The Altered Hours) is due for release in May 2026. The first single ‘Chump Change’ is out now.</image:caption>

A renowned collaborator, working with Jerry Fish, Kormac, Elaine Mai, Jack O’Rourke, Ailbhe Reddy and more, this latest chapter in her creative life will surprise and enrapture listeners. Utterly unexpected, tender, deeply personal, and grounded is the pursuit of honesty, this is as much a new beginning as it is the culmination of all that has gone before. Now, as a solo artist, MayKay has cracked open a new chapter in her creative progression, bolstered by a sold out Whelan's show in December 2025. <image:title>Music - ALIA</image:title>
<image:caption>AliA is widely regarded as one of the most naturally gifted selectors to emerge from the European scene in years. At just 22, the Belgian DJ plays with the depth and knowledge of a veteran crate-digger, but with an infectious, youthful energy that is impossible to resist. While many DJs stick to a lane, AliA weaves a tapestry. Her sets are a joyful, high-speed collision of genres - threading lines between jazz-fusion, broken beat, soulful house, UK garage, and obscure funk. She doesn’t just play records; she recontextualizes them, finding the groove that connects a 70s jazz cut to a modern club banger. Having already lit up stages like Dekmantel and Worldwide Festival, she has proven she can command a crowd of any size. For Beyond the Pale, AliA brings exactly the kind of musical curiosity we love. This isn’t a set for standing still; it’s a set for real dancers, for music lovers, and for anyone who wants to see the future of DJing in action.</image:caption>

<image:title>Music - DUG</image:title>
<image:caption>There’s a natural magnetism to DUG’s folk brew. The duo, made up of Conor (Lorkin) O’Reilly and Jonny Pickett, are gearing up for the release of their debut album, having formed in 2023–but you’d be forgiven for believing that they’ve been writing together for a lifetime. Their music stems from roots in musical traditions spanning both sides of the pond. In one breath, echoing the great American folk troubadours, and in another, comfortably channelling the elder statesmen of Irish folk. This is no accident. DUG have a shared musical heritage, with members having been born in America and Scotland before arriving in Ireland. O’Reilly himself spent almost a decade making and releasing music in upstate New York, having picked up sticks from his native Edinburgh, (Irish mother and Scottish father) before moving to Ireland in 2022 to start a new musical chapter. And you can hear that lived musical experience in singles like ‘Big Sundown’ and ‘Jubilee’ (shortlisted for two Grammy nominations). Resonator guitar and banjo, the building blocks of DUG’s arrangements, lick and spin, with intricate finger-picking patterns whirling to a compelling whole. Their music breathes, vamping in sync.</image:caption>

<image:title>Music - Maicín</image:title>
<image:caption>Maicín are an Irish five-piece pop sensation making what they like to call “Channel-Surf Rock”: A flickering eclectic blend of jangle pop, folk, new wave, and even boogie woogie. Maicín began as a creative escape for songwriter Matt Hurley and drummer Aidan Kelleher, two young architects worn down by London life. What started as weekly jams to escape the mundanity of corporate life quickly became a fully fledged band. Well not quite “fully fledged”. Upon returning to Ireland, the band was completed by a mix of childhood friends and family: Darragh McNamara (bass), Méabh Fitzgerald (keys), and Ryan Daly (lead guitar). Working with producer Oli Deakin (CMAT, Elanor Moss, Swimming Bell), the band are confidently creating a sound that is entirely their own. Equal parts angular and lush, with distorted guitars and omnichord living in precarious harmony with lap steel and harmonica. It shouldn’t work but it really does. Their rise has been fast. In 2025, Maicín won both the UCC Battle of the Bands and the Intervarsity Battle of the Bands, marking them as one of Ireland’s most exciting new acts. That same year, they toured the UK with Amble, stepping onto legendary stages such as Barrowland Ballroom, Albert Hall, and Shepherd’s Bush Empire. At home, they’ve played Cyprus Avenue, Coughlan’s, Cork City Hall, Roisín Dubh, The Academy (supporting Clifford’s), Crowbar Terrace, and the Spilt Milk Festival For Maicín, the band is where meaning and mischief meet. They take it very seriously... sometime.</image:caption>

<image:title>Music - Sei Green</image:title>
<image:caption>Sei Green are a Dublin-based project led by duo Adam Garrett and Ellen Sleator. Blending soul, funk and disco with dreamy, psychedelic textures, they create groove-led songs that feel hazy, immersive and quietly emotional. Their sound sits somewhere between laid-back funk and dream pop, smooth basslines and lush, layered instrumentation carried by breathy unison vocals. The warmth of their recordings is brought to life on stage by Will Aranha on drums, adding movement and depth to their hypnotic rhythms. Drawing subtle comparisons to Khruangbin, Men I Trust and Parcels, Sei Green craft music that feels both intimate and expansive, reflective lyricism wrapped in melodies that linger. Releases like Deep Green and Bored of Resting offer a glimpse into their softly surreal, rhythm-driven world. At its heart, Sei Green is two pals making groovy, sleepy music, soundtracks for slow mornings, late evenings and everything in between.</image:caption>

<image:title>Music - Croíthe</image:title>
<image:caption>Croíthe (KREEHA) are a Dublin-based post-punk/shoegaze band making waves with their dark, emotive sound. Their debut EP, A Brief Respite, hit #1 on Ireland’s Best-Selling Charts and #11 on the Independent Charts, earning praise from BBC Radio 6’s Steve Lamacq. After a busy 2025 touring the UK and Europe, 2026 promises to be a big year, with headline shows and further touring cementing their status as one of Dublin’s most exciting new acts.</image:caption>

<image:title>Music - BOOLABOOM</image:title>
<image:caption>Boolaboom are a super-sized brass and samba percussion big-band playing jazzy house and techno. A budding collaboration between a multicultural blend of international jazz musicians and samba drummers, the group launched in 2023 to make ‘unplugged house music’ heavily sprinkled with soul, jazz and South American flare. BoolaBoom’s original tracks feature catchy brass licks and scintillating brass solos alongside classic EDM-style percussion build-ups, air-punching beat-drops and catchy, irresistible samba-esque chants. Their 2025 release ‘Shuffle’ was debuted by Craig Charles on BBC6 and Dan Hegarty made his ‘Track of the Week’ on 2FM. The band’s jazzy rework of dance classic ‘Atmosphere’ by Kerri Chandler earned them a call from the house music legend after he saw a clip of them busking it on Instagram. The band ended up playing with live him at one of his recent Cork shows. French producer Art of Tones (aka Llorca) took a shine to the group and remixed their track ‘Summerhouse’. The upbeat disco rework hit number 18 in the Traxsource Top 100 with EDM legends like Laurent Garnier, Glen Underground and mega-popular new wave DJs like Folamour declaring their love for it. Their shows at Electric Picnic, All Together Now and Kaleidoscope festivals went down a treat last summer while the ‘Full House’ signs went up again for their recent Cork Jazz Festival show at The Pav and a sold-out show at the Savoy Theatre in February.</image:caption>

<image:title>Music - (ART)IFICIAL</image:title>
<image:caption>(ART)ificial is a project built on the belief that a local music scene is only as strong as the community it serves. Operating as a grassroots collective, they bridge the gap between global electronic history and the talent thriving in their own backyard, pairing legendary international pioneers with local artists who deserve the spotlight. There is no pretense here; the focus remains firmly on the music, the crowd and the culture. At its core, (ART)ificial is a labor of love, a serious commitment to carving out a space where the music is authentic, the atmosphere is intentional, and the primary goal is simply to build something meaningful for their community.</image:caption>

<image:title>Music - Dublin Disco All-Dayer</image:title>
<image:caption>The Dublin Disco All-Dayer is a party that takes place twice a year in the stunning surrounds of Orlagh House in Rathfarnham. It's the brainchild of Pablo of Fatty Fatty Phonographics, who'll be helming a 4 hour DDAD takeover on Friday 12th for Beyond The Pale. Expect lashings of classic disco alongside afro-cosmic rarities, proper house music and funky party classics. Responsible for bringing house and disco legends like Lil Louis, Mr Fingers, Unabombers, Metro Area and Nicky Siano ( Studio 54/The Gallery) to Dublin for the first time, Pablo has long been a 'go to' guy for promoters who are bringing disco, soul or funk legends to town - supporting the stellar likes of Chic, Roy Ayers, Parliament/Funkadelic and Amp Fiddler, as well as hip-hoppers like The Pharcyde and People Under The Stairs over the years. He also runs the Fatty Fatty label, a home for reworks of classic disco, funk and soul records, along with modern house explorations from the likes of Chicago's DJ Rahaan, Darryn Jones, Ray Mang and Daniel Wang. The label has had heavyweight DJ support from the likes of Optimo, Bicep, Krystal Klear, Horse Meat Disco, Crazy P, DJ Sotofett and Ashley Beedle. Pablo currently holds residencies at beloved Dublin venues like Hang Dai and Fidelity Bar.</image:caption>

<image:title>Music - STOMPTOWN BRASS PERFORMS JAMIE XX</image:title>
<image:caption>For ten years, 8-piece urban funk brass act Stomptown Brass have shocked and delighted audiences across Ireland and abroad since their inception in 2014. Through countless festival appearances and a number of wild and wacky productions, they have built a reputation as one of Ireland’s most unique and dynamic ensemble acts. Blending sweeping soundscapes, relentless rhythms, groovy drops and captivating visuals, the expansive band line-up of two Drummers, two Trombones, two Trumpets, sixteen hands, one Sax and one big filthy Tuba are known to blow a serious racket that’ll get any crowd on their feet. With a penchant for taking on unusual projects, from the theatrical jazz funeral show "Requiem for the Truth" to the "Curious Eyes & Ears" show for 2-9 year olds, the band followed up their 2024 debut album release with another unexpected twist: taking on and brassing up the much-loved Jamie XX album "In Colour". Packed with club favourites such as "Gosh" and "Sleep Sound", but also littered with more introspective tracks and stylistic tangents, this album provides an ideal framework for a band often toying with the edges of what brass music should sound like while always keeping the dancefloor hopping!</image:caption>
