Stomptown Brass

For ten years, 8-piece urban funk brass act Stomptown Brass have shocked and delighted audiences across Ireland and abroad since their inception in 2014. Through countless festival appearances and a number of wild and wacky productions, they have built a reputation as one of Ireland’s most unique and dynamic ensemble acts. Blending sweeping soundscapes, relentless rhythms, groovy drops and captivating visuals, the expansive band line-up of two Drummers, two Trombones, two Trumpets, sixteen hands, one Sax and one big filthy Tuba are known to blow a serious racket that’ll get any crowd on their feet.

With a penchant for taking on unusual projects, from the theatrical jazz funeral show "Requiem for the Truth" to the "Curious Eyes & Ears" show for 2-9 year olds, the band followed up their 2024 debut album release with another unexpected twist: taking on and brassing up the much-loved Jamie XX album "In Colour". Packed with club favourites such as "Gosh" and "Sleep Sound", but also littered with more introspective tracks and stylistic tangents, this album provides an ideal framework for a band often toying with the edges of what brass music should sound like while always keeping the dancefloor hopping!
